Shape shifters have lore about them from all corners of the world--Roman, Greek, British, Asian, Irish, Norse, Slavic, and far eastern areas. Today, they are used in horror, fantasy, and science fiction movies and books. Generally speaking, shape shifters are demons that can transform into any other form or being--living, dead, or fictional. They are driven by jealousy, greed, and loneliness typically, unless they've been instructed to do so by another demon. Not all shifters have the same exact abilities. Some have to shed their skin, teeth, and nails while other don't. That's the main difference between a regular shifter and an alpha shape shifter, the forefather of all shifters. When they take on the form of a living person, they mimic the appearance of said person and can access their thoughts. When they turn into a dead or fictional form, they need to have a reference--from pictures or film. They can also have children by impregnating a human woman. They can be killed by decapitation, a bullet/blade of silver to the heart, iridium, and vamptonite. They can be identified by retinal flares on camera. |
